The Milton Keynes Area was formed in July 2000, in response to the growing
Numbers of MX-5 Owners in and around the new city. As of July 2005 there are
70 members joining in our activities, coming, not only from Milton Keynes itself,
But surrounding areas of Buckingham, Bedford, Luton, Dunstable and numerous
Villages.
Milton Keynes MX-5 Owners Club meet at Abbey Hill Golf Club, Two Mile Ash, on the first
Thursday of each month, from 7.00. Meals are served until 8.45, in large, lounge restuarant
surroundings. There is a substantial car park, patio area overlooking the putting green
and facilities for formal meetings if required. Abbey Hill Golf Club has easy access, and is
clearly signposted off the A5 and H3, Monks Way.
Each month there is an update of events taking place locally and nationally, General planning and discussion of activities, and an opportunity for everyone To express their opinions, and offer suggestions. We also have ‘fun’ whenever Possible! So far during 2005 we have had a Games Night, a Quiz, a talk by Chips Away, A Best Kept Car Competition, and a Scalextric Model Racing session. Some months We just chat, and enjoy each others’s company. Members take turns in arranging These activities, with everyone prepared to have a go at something.
Unlike some Owners Clubs, we ARE NOT a teckie bunch i.e. spending time with
Our heads under bonnets, tweaking engines and then spending hours in the pub
Chatting about it! We are, mainly, a social club, who prefer to enjoy DRIVING
Our cars to interesting places, and making friends.
Activities try to cater for a wide range of interests. This year we have had drives
To Wychwood Brewery, Witney, Blenheim Palace, Bourton-On-The Water,
Hunstanton and Market Harborough. We have also been Bowling, had an Indian
Meal together, been to Brands Hatch Classic Festival, MX-5 Spring Rally in South
Wales and had a BBQ!
Lots more planned for the coming months, including the National Rally at
Goodwood in August, Trax at Silverstone, our annual Treasure Hunt, and Punting
On the River Cherwell.
Some members find it difficult to get to the Club Nights, so Email updates are Regularly sent, giving important information on upcoming events and general News. In addition, there is a monthly Newsletter sent to your home, and, of Course, the club magazine, Soft-top-Hard-top.
